No Entry Fee. Sign-posted from Taihape Rd-Ohiti Rd Corner

Flyer for school groups here.

Learn new skills and have a go on a course. Sessions are designed for all age groups, young and old.

This is a great training opportunity for students to improve their orienteering skills prior to the HB Long Champs in two weeks’ time and the North Island Orienteering School Champs (being held in Hawke’s Bay in July).

The training day is open to all Primary, Intermediate and Secondary students.  This is also an ideal opportunity for students not competing at champs or for newbies a chance to learn what it’s all about.  No entry fee.

To get to Tirohia Farm, from Omahu travel 2k along the Taihape Road, turn left into Ohiti Road for just over 8k – follow the white and orange Orienteering signs to 825 Ohiti Road Farm entrance.
Note, this event starts at 10.30 am  (unlike traditional events which are self started).  Please allow enough time for travel and to assemble prior to 10.30 am.
Can all students please bring a whistle.  This is a recommended safety device for all orienteering events.
Drink bottle and snack.
Running shoes with good grip.
If the weather is not kind to us i.e. heavy rain etc – we will likely cancel the day.  This advice will go up on our club facebook page on the morning of the event if cancellation occurs. HB Orienteering Facebook
Finish time approximately 1.30 pm or you can choose to leave earlier as needed.
And not forgetting Mother’s Day – perhaps bring a picnic rug and lunch to celebrate!
